Ableton Live effect device rack - DJ Style Time Sync Gate

I recently made my first custom effect device rack in Ableton Live and it's pretty useful so I thought I'd make it available to download so any other Live users can check it out if they want. Here's a video description of it...

Company mistakenly gets Oprah fan mail, check out their brilliant replies!

There's a Norwegian browser company called Opera (I believe they made the internet browser that's on the Wii if memory serves me correctly...) and over the years they have mistakenly received tons of fan mail for mega-icon Oprah. As a tribute to Oprah for her retirement, Opera decided to post some of their favorite Oprah fan mail along with their smart-ass replies back to the icon's fans... (click on the email to see the response...)

some of my favorite quotes...

"We don't inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."
- Native American saying

"just as the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly"

"Point is, what's so wonderful is that every one of these flowers has a specific relationship with the insect that pollinates it. There's a certain orchid that looks exactly like a certain insect so the insect is drawn to this flower, its double, its soul mate, and wants nothing more than to make love to it. And after the insect flies off, spots another soul-mate flower and makes love to it, thus pollinating it. And neither the flower nor the insect will ever understand the significance of their lovemaking. I mean, how could they know that because of their little dance the world lives? But... it does. By simply doing what they're designed to do, something large and magnificent happens. In this sense they show us how to live - how the only barometer you have is your heart. How, when you spot your flower, you can't let anything get in your way."
- John Laroche in Adaptation (2000) played by Chris Cooper

How to spot GM food at the grocery...

In this day and age when what looks like food might not in fact be "real" food... it's good to know how to decipher the codes to reveal the truth. Genetically modified foods haven't been around long enough to really know the long term effects of ingesting them. Here's a great blog post to check out if you'd rather not take that chance with your own health and life...

"How to ID Genetically Modified Food at the Supermarket."

Great read... "Nurse reveals top 5 regrets people CONFESS on thier deathbed."

Nurse reveals top 5 regrets people confess on their deathbed.

I saw this posted on Facebook recently and had to share, it's a great read for everybody... Although the title kinda bothers me, it should't be "top 5 regrets people CONFESS on their deathbed" not "make on their deathbed". The regret was made earlier in their life, not WHILE they were on their deathbed. Sorry, my mom just always nit-picked my grammar... Regardless, it is some great tidbits of wisdom.
